Personality & Traits
General Overview | Emile is an unassuming man who has an air of mystery about him. He keeps to himself for the most part, however, when his friendship is earned he is fiercely loyal. He prefers to try to think the solution to an issue out rather than use the computer. Emile maintains little to no contact with his parents, and considers himself to have no immediate blood relatives. If asked to train someone he will employ rather unorthodox methods, however, those who have been trained by him always state that they have benefited from the training. He applies his deductive reasoning skills to engineering a technical issues and has done so from a young age. This allows him to very often have something fixed or running better than it should. | |

Personal History | Emile was born in 2311 in LeBarre France on Earth. His father was a known thief and his mother was a lady of ill repute in the employ of the Orion Syndicate. Due to the unfortunate nature of his parents he was raised as a ward of the state. Both of his parents were arrested for their crimes. Emile did not want for much during his childhood. The group home he stayed at saw to that. In fact if wanted for anything it was for friendship. The other boys and girls seemed to shun the young man. As he grew into a teenager he showed aptitude for technology and how things worked. He also had the ability to take things apart and memorize how they went back together. The staff of the group home loved him for this as he spent many an hour alone with his thoughts fixing things like replicators and the such. As he grew up Emile's parents made numerous efforts to contact him and explain why they had done what they did. The more they tried the more Emile wanted nothing to do with them. When Emile was eighteen and with the encouragement of the director of the group home he applied and was accepted to Starfleet Academy. So, without any thought to his troubled childhood he made his way to San Francisco and Starfleet Academy. His placement exams put him in the Engineering Track almost immediately. Although he would come to take some Operations courses to learn not just the how things worked but the why as well. His Freshman year he roomed with a Bolian named Xeres and for the first time Emile experienced friendship. The two would come to be inseparable during their four years together. How the information got out Emile would never know. However, some of his classmates learned what his parents had done and ridiculed him. This led Emile to double down on being antisocial and get the tattoo that would serve to remind him that everyone is beholden to the law regardless of circumstance. After graduation Emile was assigned as a junior Engineering Officer with the rank of Ensign on the USS Tomahawk. He was glad to see that Xeres was assigned to the Security Department there as well. For Emile it was hard to make friends and having the Bolian at his side kept him somewhat at ease. Four years into his service aboard the Tomahawk Emile got to return the favor to Xeres. The two along with two other officers were assigned to an away mission to explore a potential source of dilithium. While descending through the atmosphere the shuttle they were on was struck by a bolt of lightening from an unknown source. Xeres was seriously wounded in that incident. Emile managed to keep Xeres alive, as well as the rest of the team for a week through plasma storms. This way the Tomahawk could effect rescue. Captain Jenkins promoted Emile to Lieutenant Junior Grade for his efforts and heroism. Throughout his career thus far Emile had always had a fascination with warp theory, and warp technology. The idea that something could travel faster than natural light amazed him. So in 2340 when the position of Propulsion Specialist came available he leapt at it. Even though this would separate him from his friend Emile headed for the USS Ticonderoga. The next seven years would see the Ticonderoga explore the galaxy. Although it was relatively uneventful. Emile would go on to say this was some of the best work he has done in his career. Just him and a warp core, the crew of the ship would tease him and say that the core was his spouse. What Emile liked most about this assignment was the ability to work relatively alone. Emile Javert still remained socially awkward. The saying goes that all good things must come to an end and so it was with the dream assignment. Starfleet had bigger and better ideas for their up and coming engineer. So, in 2347 he is transferred to the USS Roosevelt to serve as Assistant Chief Engineer. The Roosevelt was an Ambassador Class one of the newest classes in the fleet. He did not want the job, however, he knew that he had to take it if he wanted to succeed in Starfleet. The crew of the Roosevelt was some of the most welcoming people Emile had ever met. It was here that he met Amanda Keating the only woman to date he has ever loved. Despite his feelings he never told her how he felt, he always thought that the work came before feelings. Three years into his service aboard the Roosevelt the ship had been assigned to search for a vessel that was thought to be missing in action. Using the sensors Emile was able to track the residual energy from the mission ship to a black hole. Once there he employed the deflector dish and system to bolster the shields from the gravity well. Then a replulsor beam to pull the vessel out and into normal space. For his quick thinking he received another promotion to the rank of Lieutenant. The ever socially awkward Javert watched the woman he secretly love get married. He had no one to blame there except himself for not making his feelings known. However, this was too much to bare and so in 2354 he requests a transfer to any available posting. This does work to his favor as Starfleet grants the transfer to the USS Tsiolkovsky to serve as Chief Engineering Officer. The assignment brings new hope to the stagnant man as that ship is serving as a test bed for a lot of new systems and Emile is actually excited to help in their creation. |
