Mission: Mission 1 - Half and half doesn't always make one
Location: Bridge

Tap-step. Tap-step.

It was almost a rhythmic sound as the Vulcan emerged from the turbolift. The same rhythm followed, becoming louder as the man in teal approached the command center. Cane in one hand, PADD in the other, he bee-lined for the command chair. "Captain Reynolds? I am Sekat, your new chief medical officer..." Straightening, but still heavily depending on the cane, the Vulcan offered the PADD.

"Ahhhh welcome Doctor," Jon said. He finished up what he was doing on his command chairs terminal and stood up. "Shall we go to my ready room?"

"Please..." He handed his PADD over, then followed the captain.

Jon entered hoping the man would not be in too much pain walking there but then he had made his way up to the bridge.

"Would you like a beverage?" he asked.

"Tea would be fine," the Vulcan answered politely, "may I sit?" He gestures to one of the seats, hoping the answer would be yes. "I fear I have done too much walking lately," he admitted.

"Please," Jon said indicating the seat opposite his desk. "What kind of tea?" he queried.

"I actually like mint tea," Sekat confessed, "preferably with a dash of honey but I can do without." He eased himself into the indicated chair and positioned his cane against the desk, though still within easy reach.

"How was your trip out to join us?"

"Very unentertaining," the Vulcan confessed. "I spent most of it in my assigned quarters, outside of my ventures to go for a walk. I do require the exercise but it is straining on my leg. I can wear a support to increase range of motion while on duty or on away missions but my preference would be not to, as I am in great pain afterwards." He massaged his thigh a little as he sat, hoping to ease some tension out.

"Well lets keep that for when we really need it," Jon said replicating peppermint tea with honey. "Besides your the doc, doc. You know best about crews bodies." He set the mug Infront of the other man,

"So I will be calling a staff meeting but we are being sent to the planet Nen for our first mission out. We are just waiting on an Ambassador to join us and will be underway soon. I don't know if you have ever come across that system or the people before?"

Sekat shook his head. "That name does not sound familiar, but I will review any information you give me."

"I think I will save it for the staff briefing," Jon said. He changed the subject. "I assume we need to get a mountain of people through their physicals? Would it help if I set the bar?"

"Lead through example captain," the Vulcan doctor suggested, "shall we meet in sickbay in half an hour?"

Jon nodded. "Sure thing."
