Mission: Mission 1 - Half and half doesn't always make one
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: MD1

ON:

Jon walked into sickbay exactly half and hour after having seen his new CMO. Finding the nearest person in blue uniform he said, "Im here for my medical."

"Doctor's over there," the blue uniform answered, pointing ahead in sickbay, "biobed one, he's expecting you."

"Thank you," Jon said making his way where directed.

Sekat stood by the bed, tricorder in hand, obviously calibrating the bed for the Captain's hybrid nature. He glanced up and offered what could be perceived as a very minute smile. "Right on time captain, please.." he gestured towards the bed. "Make yourself comfortable. Are there any recent injuries or illnesses that may not be in your file? Any allergies I need to be aware of?"

"Well I erm .... have you seen my file. It should all be in there," he said. "Everything's been reattached though."

"I have not," Sekat admitted, "though I do not understand what you mean with 're-attached'. Should your medical record not be fully available to your attending physician? Did something happen to your records, that they needed to be...resent?" Like many a doctor he did prefer a blank slate in order to get to know his patients, especially when it concerned the command team.

"I was not aware it wasn't," Jon said confused. "I'll be wide open with you doc. My last command. We had to abandon ship. I was kidnapped before beaming off by a group of Ce'tea who had never been that friendly. They were working with some Cardassians and tried to torture me for 4 months. They cut some toes off," Jon said as if it was nothing.

Sekat frowned at that news. "That would have warranted a direct answer to my query regarding recent injuries captain," he berated the man while taking out his tricorder, "given that you walked in without difficulty I must assume Starfleet medical has regrown your toes or provided you with suitable prosthetics. I trust you are seeing the counsellor on regular intervals as well?"

"Dr Amia Telamon regrew my toes and yes I saw the counselor at DS21," John confirmed. "I have no idea why its not in my medical records. What about all the other usual stuff?"

"As I said captain, I have not yet seen your file. I seem to have misunderstood your use of reattached as I took it to mean information needed to be reattached to your medical file. Additionally, I prefer to meet a person first before diving into their medical history." The Vulcan frowned. "What do you mean with 'other usual stuff'?" He gestured to the monitor. "Readings show you are in good health even if your stress levels are above normal."

"Yes all the blood pressure, cholesterol. Usual human stuff. And well the betaziod parts. My stress is high? Probably down to being held captive I guess," he shrugged.

"Perhaps. What do you do to unwind?" He glanced sideways at the monitor. "Your blood pressure is slightly elevated but all other values are within norm for a hybrid of your makeup.'

"I box," Jon said. "I intend to get a schedule set back up. What can I do to lower my blood pressure then doc?" he asked.

"I can treat it by providing medication but otherwise a change in dietary plan may be required. You need to lower your intake of sodium chloride."

"Well that sounds fun. What's that mean? Less red meat?" Jon asked.

"Less salt," Sekat deadpanned, "red meat is fine as long as you do not consume that too often. But you do need to lower your consumption of salt." He shut down the scanner and closed his tricorder. "Let us monitor your progression for two weeks. You are cleared for duty captain."

"Thank you. I think," Jon said. That was going to be hard lowering consumption of red meat. "Good bye doctor."

"Good bye captain," the Vulcan answered, "see you in two weeks."

Jon nodded and walked out non to happy with this sodium development.
